Kauai Sunsets In an Older unit
Reviewed on 2024-12-19 by Donald Leland C. , Eagle Point, OR United States1. Upon arrival in the evening, the steep descent on the concrete sloped walk required assistance from a neighbor in the next building because the walk was not well-lit. Suitcases rolling down the slope, etc.
2. The bath shower needed a shower mat because the old tile floor was slippery. We purchased one.
3. Because of the kitchen size only one person can effectively work in there.
4. Remember the bed is only a double if you are expecting a queen or king.
Aside from those difficulties the views from the unit are gorgeous and sitting on the lanai is stupendous. The unit is well supplied even with beach accessories.
The furniture is comfortable if dated, You can walk by the golf course or walk down to the lawn outside Hotel 1.
The guy remodeling the unit upstairs has Tourettes Syndrome which made for some interesting sounds and and shouts from above. Morning and afternoon. The nearby Westin Hotel restaurant was really good.
Overall, this unit, which dates from the 70's is really good. But could in the near future stand some updating including a newer washer/dryer.
The rental agency folks are easy to work with. Because you will likely arrive in the evening, I recommend the Kauai Kiss unit stocking service to get the essentials you will need.

Kauai is stunning
Reviewed on 2017-09-21 by Dena L. , Dallas, TXSimply amazing! The views are perfect from 101... I loved no AC- just leave the windows open and sleep like a baby. We walked to the St. Regis (not to be missed!) and enjoyed morning and evening views. It's about a half mile to the st. Regis- so enjoy the exercise and the view. Thank you KVR. Kauai is stunning... and princeville IS the place to stay.

Impossible to be disappointed
Reviewed on 2016-04-03 by Seamus O. , Cohasset, MAMy wife and I visited Princeville to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We stayed in this condo, which is simply phenomenal. A few non-obvious highlights worth mentioning: first, its a corner unit in the very first building in the Pali Ke Kua community. In other words, you have no neighbor to your left. Second, its a ground floor unit so you can walk right out onto the grass, as well as hose the sand off your feet when you get back from the beach. In the early evening, perhaps 200 yds away and down the street, you begin to see people gathering on a small grassy area. They've come from all over the Princeville community to watch the sun go down. But you need not join them, because you have just as good a view, if not a better one, from the chair you're sitting in on the lanai. Your drink of choice is within arms reach and you have a front row seat to one of the consistently best sunsets on the planet. While the grassy knoll down the way clears, you and yours stay seated and watch the dusk gather and the stars arrive (when we were there, it was a full moon and we therefore got to view a surreal moonset over Bali Hai each morning).
Ten years ago, we had honeymooned in Princeville and stayed at the fancy resort (now the St Regis) not even 1/2 mile down the street. This was so much better, and for a fraction of the cost. The amenities were perfect, the condo nicely appointed, and naps on the couch with just the screen doors in front of us and the sound of the ocean and the cool ocean breeze all over were just outstanding. Final notes -- the owners were very gracious w/ questions etc. when we were booking, and KVR (the property managers) were proactive and highly professional as well. Made everything seamless. There's a grocery store 1.5 mi away, a beach w/in walking distance, and the best scenery in the Pacific everywhere and anywhere you turn. Stop reading this and book the place now. Its impossible to be disappointed.
Sunsets were incredible and the views were stunning
Reviewed on 2015-10-17 by Michelle G. , Rochester, NYMy husband and I went to Kauai for two weeks for our honeymoon and had a trip of a lifetime. The condo was immaculate with all of the comforts of home - including a washer and dryer and a well-stocked kitchen. The beach supplies (lawn chairs and umbrella) were an added bonus. Pali Ke Kua had a wonderful restaurant and relaxing community swimming pool and hot tub as well. The sunsets were incredible and the views were stunning. We would love to go back someday.

Stunning Ocean and Bali Hai Views at Pali Ke Kua 101

Near the edge of a bluff overlooking the ocean, this ground-floor condominium offers fabulous ocean and coastline views. Bali Hai, the landmark mountain made famous in "South Pacific," is just one of the awesome sights that guests enjoy here.
Relax indoors or on your lanai to take in the gorgeous scenery - boats sailing by, playful dolphins offshore and, during winter months, giant humpback whales. Spectacular sunsets color the sky along Kauai's beautiful north shore in the evenings.
Lounge poolside and take a refreshing swim from time to time at the pool just a few steps away. Beach lovers appreciate the path which leads to sea level and a sandy beach below the bluff. Plan a picnic here or just laze in the warm sun, relax and enjoy the beautiful panoramic vista.
This condo is a comfortable home-away-from-home which is conveniently located near restaurants, shops and activities. The fully furnished kitchen makes it easy to dine at home and, when you wish to dine out, there are many restaurants in right in Princeville and in nearby Hanalei from which to choose. Easily walk to Hideaways Pizza Pub right at Pali Ke Kua which is open for dinner and to Princeville Resort's restaurants just a bit further away.
