The most beautiful Hanalei Bay and beach is a 15 minute drive with parking available. In Princeville, the “Gem” is close to hikes along NaPali Coast (with prior reservations), lighthouses and gardens. We would definitely come back again!!

Not as expected

Bbq and beach/pool accessories are onsite.
Fans in every room.
Cons:
The air conditioning is solar powered so expect it to not work about an hour before sunset. Hawaii is humid so it will get warm and muggy even in December for the first few hours at night. The air feels turbid without AC.
There are nats and flies constantly within the unit. Cobwebs and dead flies are all over the place especially behind tables and floors. Geckos are hidden inside the cracks in the ceiling and even though they help with flies, you will hear them every night if you don’t mind.
It is dusty around anything that’s not easily cleaned from the front surfaces.
The unit is technically a two bedroom but the walls are wide open throughout so there’s no privacy between the living room and bedrooms. If you’re bringing a baby then expect to stay quiet if your baby is sensitive to noise in one of the bedrooms.
The pool was nice to have but the sun never hit the pool deck in December. The step down to the pool is further than convenient. Be careful of a low spot where water doesn’t run off on the deck because it builds moss and gets slippery (small spot in front of pool).
The walk down to the unit is on a steep grade and the furthest unit from the parking lot. (Groceries, luggage, etc.)
The sofas were small and not very comfortable to lay down in.
Conclusion:
This place can be nice for some vacationers but it wasn’t what we expected. For the price we paid we thought it should have been nicer based on he description and pictures.Our second stay was far cleaner and nicer all around. And it’s was cheaper by about $50/night. Stay here for as long as you can! Highly recommend.

The house is the last property in the community, giving it complete seclusion and stunning views of the surrounding jungle landscape. The interior was immaculate, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Even with mostly cloudy/rainy days during our early December stay, we still enjoyed the outdoor patio and outdoor shower. On top of the house itself, we absolutely loved its proximity to Hanalei, the gorgeous mountain views, and Ha'ena State Park (be sure to reserve your park entrance/parking pass online within 30 days of your trip!). Agree with other comments that the house is best suited for a couple, or more if you don't mind the open loft-style walls. We highly recommend and would definitely stay here again, if we're lucky enough to visit Kauai again in the future! :)

Pali Uli #8 is the last cottage in the group and it faces the forest with a distant view of the Pacific. It really makes you feel as if you off by yourself. Everything you need for a beach getaway was provided.

Very Private, Great Location!

We stayed at the villa for two weeks while it was pretty stormy. We only had two days of sun which no fault of anyone made the pool practically useless. The two sunny days, the pool was almost unbearably cold, but we wouldn't have traded this spot for any other one on the island.
We had some issues with construction on the property that the property management was unaware was occurring, but they helped stop it once we notified them. Because of the construction we had a few days we couldn't access the bbq and side areas. So if anything is going on reach out to property management, I'm sure they'll help you too!
Because this property is at the end of the complex, lending to its privacy, it backs up to the tropical forest, which brings all kinds of critters. The birds and chickens were beautiful and we enjoyed waking up to their singing.
Onto the inside! The layout internally was great. The linens were fresh and the house was very clean. The couch was comfy. The water pressure was great and I loved having the laundry machines accessible too.

It is amazing how close you are to many activities, gorgeous north shore beaches, and a nice variety of restaurants and cafes. And yet, it will seem like you are on your own private island while you are at home enjoying the serenity and peacefulness of this cottage with your private dipping pool.
When you choose to venture away from your shangri-la you will find a host of modern amenities like a grocery store, post office, shops and galleries, as well as lots of activities including tours of beautiful botanical gardens, horseback riding, zip line rides, river and ocean kayaking, boat tours, snorkeling and swimming, surfing and windsurfing, fishing, golfing and, of course, sightseeing the natural wonders of Kauai, to name just a few.
You will also want to be sure to stop by at least one of the Sunshine or farmer's Markets for fresh, local vegetables and fruit to include in meals that you choose to prepare at home. There is an electric grill as well as the fully equipped kitchen where you can create your culinary masterpieces.
This charming cottage is multi-level with the loft-style master suite upstairs complete with its own bathroom. The second bedroom is also open and the walls do not reach the ceiling. It is on a different level a few steps down and also has its own bathroom. The lower level, a few steps down from the second bedroom, is the main living area with the kitchen, dining nook and living room. Sliding glass doors in the living room lead to your private lanai and dipping pool. In case you return from the beach and want to rinse off before going inside, there is an outdoor solar shower for your convenience.
If you have had dreams about your ideal tropical hideaway, they have likely been of a place just like Pali Uli 8, a true Gem in paradise.
