This condo was perfect for 2 couples with 2 king beds and ground floor access to grass off the lanai. The 180• view of the ocean was beautiful watching whales, turtles and porpoises from lanai. Quick 5 minute walk to Brennecke’s beach, the restaurant and Poipu beach. The kitchen was well stocked, along with 4 beach chairs, towels and umbrella. The nice pool overlooks the rocks with water sprays to dazzle. We will stay here again!

This condo was perfect in all respects! The unit was really clean, in good repair and well outfitted. It was large enough to comfortably accommodate four adults. The location is unbelievably gorgeous with views of the ocean, waves crashing on the rocky shores, whales and dolphins swimming by and turtles in the water. The condo was a two minute walk to two beaches, a park and restaurants and a five minute drive to other restaurants. You can access walking trails from the complex. The pool was great too. The beds were comfortable with good linens. We had such a great time and hope to go back next year! When we arrived the sliding door didn’t move smoothly and the rental company responded immediately to fix it. All in all a truly fabulous experience!

Excellent views, close to beaches. You should be prepared for the unit to shake when the waves hit the sea wall but we found this charming. Unit could use a sharpened set of kitchen knives, ours were dreadfully dull.

I brought my mom to Hawaii for her first time and this condo was perfect! It is spacious, extremely clean and the location is perfect. We loved seeing the spray of the ocean from the living room and falling asleep to the crash of the waves was magical! The condo is older but very clean and comfortable
We had a few issues while there that were handled quickly (was not clear how to lock the front door after opening it with a code, the electrical in the kitchen went out).
A few notes that would have been good to know in advance:
1) the condo is on the bottom floor but you have to take the
elevator down to it (or walk a stone path) from the parking lot.
2) the kitchen is FULLY stocked with anything you can think of to cook, however it would have been great to have basic salt and pepper
3 ) the condo has round/flat bottom coffee filters provided but the coffee maker takes cones. We made it work pretty much.
4) the condo has great access to the pool through the grass (otherwise you have to go down very steep steps from the 2nd floor)
5) the garbage situation is strange. You have to take the garbage up in the elevator to the lower parking lot and throw in the dumpster. This is different than the instructions (but what the property people told us)
6) the parking situation is a little tight. We always had parking but the lot has three levels and is narrow.
7) the walls are thin. The people above us were out on their lanai at 6am everyday and I would hear everything they said from the bedroom.

Lovely location but the place while essentially clean had some sticky, dusty areas and had a mildew/mold smell that was particularly prominent in the second bedroom (non-view). The latter also offered no area to change privately after a shower except the bedroom but because bathroom was not en-suite, you had to go naked from the shower to the bedroom with a big mirror reflecting your nudity from the opposing wall in the LR/DR.

The unit was clean and had a lot of nice touches.Air conditioning being one of them. The location is very special. I loved listening to the waves crash all day long. We really enjoyed spending our time in the pool and walking down to the beach. Beds were very comfy too.

Our first visit to Kauai and experience with Kauai Vacation Rentals was positive. We arrived about 1 a.m. in the midst of blowing winds and rain but, after a few days, the weather improved. We enjoyed our daily walks to Poipu Beach to see the resting turtles and monk seals. Snorkeling was also good at this location. Unit 106A was as advertised -- an updated well stocked kitchen, beach necessities, and ocean front. The bedroom and dining area ceiling fans kept the air moving and the slatted front door and sliding patio door added cross ventilation. The air conditioning was adequate; neither bedroom was uncomfortable. We had occasion to contact Kauai Vacation Rentals and they responded promptly to our enquiries.

The condo location was great, loved the lawn, crashing ocean, and especially the pool. In general, a nice property. The unit was clean, had a good kitchen, well appointed. Beach chairs and towels were a plus.
On the downside:
- grounds maintenance was a little spotty.
- the parking lot is a joke. Spaces are not big enough for a full size car so parking and getting in and out of the car is difficult. We got love notes from the staff if we were on a line.
- the "guest" bedroom was almost too hot to sleep in. With no AC, noisy fans had to be run all night.
- We shared the unit with a couple of cockroaches. Not impressed.
In all, the shortcomings were mostly made up for by the great location and other positives. The rental staff was professional and attentive, calling us to see how it was going, both before and during our stay.
On the downside:

The secondary bedroom had no air conditioning and our friends had a horrible time. The room was so hot and muggy even with the windows open and fans blowing. It was like being in a Sauna. I would have given the unit a 5 all the way except for this major issue.

This accommodation was exactly what I was looking for. Walking distance to Poipu Beach, king bed, air conditioning, ocean front, and it was exactly as described. Very nice kitchen that was stocked better than mine at home. The bed was very comfortable. I loved being able to hear the ocean while in bed or in the living room. Enjoyed breakfast and evenings on the patio. There was also books and maps on Kauai. Additionally the rest of the property was beautiful and smelled amazing due to the flowers. We can’t wait to return.

Poipu is a nice location to stay on Kauai; the property is a short walk to Poipu Beach. The property managers were very responsive & friendly; check-in was a breeze. Way too many automated emails from the company, though. As for the property - it was okay, but we were not impressed. The view from the lanai was nice. The kitchen has been re-done, and is quite nice. The rest of the place is quite dated. The carpet was stained, the couches were very uncomfortable. Both the glass and screen sliders are very finicky to open and close, and the screen slider came off the track often. It needs to be repaired/replaced. Could use sealing around the windows/doors too. The unit wasn't that clean when we arrived. For instance, there was a bunch of salt or sugar or something on the counter by the sink, and there was ~ a teaspoon of uncooked rice on the counter in the corner by the island. I appreciate the patterned counter may make it difficult to see this, but whether visible or not, cleaning a unit between guests should include wiping the counters. I cleaned and vacuumed myself before unpacking. There was a water incident in the unit above, so the master bathroom shower had a plastic sheet for a ceiling, attached with staples and tape. My husband found a staple on the floor while in the shower. We recognize this is not the fault of the owners, and the repair is in progress between guests, but it did add to our being unimpressed with the property.

A smooth carefree getaway. KVR’s Alicia thought of everything.Clean and cozy, this unit has everything we needed. Beautiful Poipu Beach park is a couple blocks away, warm salt pool was steps from the ocean view lanai. The building was fairly quiet even in the daytime.Kids romp in the pool and beach. Brennekes restaurant across the street has adjoining minimart/ deli. Very convenient in a beautiful neighborhood. Walk to shopping center and other restaurants, drive to Koloa for groceries, several stores to choose from. Relaxing times for all.

This condo is perfectly positioned for beach fun and relaxing on the patio while you watch for whales, turtles and dolphins. The layout is efficient, a well set up kitchen and great beach amenities. The pool is definitely a highlight positioned over the cove with splashing waves and plenty of turtles to watch below. The only drawback was the noise from other people along the hallway outside the second bedroom windows...but there’s no controlling that.

We had a wonderful stay at Poipu Shores 106A. The communication with the management company was great. We were told that there was an issue with the master bedroom blinds which they couldn't fix. We were okay with them to leave it as is or fix it during our stay.
We texted some more issues we had with blunt knives and dirty and not enough pots and they were all replaced the very same day.
Agree on other reviews that the condo needs some TLC like the main door is difficult to unlock and the patio door doesn't lock or slide well. But that didn't bother our vacation. Though it was difficult to operate it was manageable. The view to the ocean beats all of it.
The guest bedroom isn't the ocean view but has a very nice view of the garden. Looks like a mini rainforest. We used the patio dining table for all our meals. The view and breeze is amazing. We could go out for run to the Poipu Beach, walk and see turtles, go on night walks, drive everywhere around the island, etc.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We felt so close to the ocean and were able to watch sea turtles daily and dolphins further out. We were here for a week during the birth of my granddaughter. My daughter lives on the island. Loved the kitchen, and the relaxing nature of the location.Parking for a truck was a bit challenging but we figured it out after a couple days.

Poipu Shores 106A is a beautiful condo in an enchanting shoreline resort. It was clean, well-appointed and fully equipped. It had all the amenities needed to relax with coffee in the morning, sitting in beach chairs at lunch and watching the sunset with dinner on the patio. The shoreline walkway starts at Poipu Shores and leads to beaches, shops, restaurants and other resorts. The air conditioner and unit laundry were extras.

Wasn't sure what to expect. We've rented places all over the US and usually you have to provide your own paper products, detergents, etc... This was fully stocked with everything. I didn't know how important AC would be having never been to Hawaii - it is important and I'm glad we had it. The views are outstanding and the pool is great. Also very happy with Kauai Vacation Rentals will absolutely go through them again. They were fabulous.

Poipu beach is the best place to stay on Kauai! The weather is the best there. We enjoyed watching the sea turtles every day and usually spotted dolphins. Rainbows too. The swimming pool was lovely, clean, right temp, and on edge so you could watch the ocean. Our unit has air conditioning (106) which is a MUST. Such a pleasant walk to sandy beaches. (5mins). This unit could use a little updating of furniture. We had a wonderful time!

This property is located right on a bluff and has a spectacular view. The living room and master bedroom has A/C, the second bedroom does not. It was clean and well equipped. Even has an elevator to assist those who buy lots of groceries for their stay. It is walking distance to Poipu Beach and Brennekee's. I highly recommend this property.

We've come back to Poipu Shores year and after year and we always love it. The location is ideal -- a short walk to Brennecke's beach and/or to Brennecke's restaurant ... a short drive to the best shave ice on the island (in Koloa) or to the snorkeling on both sides of the Beach House ... and this year we saw dolphins just off the point at Poipu Shores, that was a real treat!
Great getaway, we didn't want to leave!

The lawn comes right up to the patio and you can walk out in the morning with your coffee and see the turtles swimming around in the surf.or in the evening watch the sun set Went to bed every night listening to the waves pound the rocks below. Easy walk down to the beaches, there are even beach chairs to take with you. The kitchen is well equipped and we would get fresh fish from the little fish market in Koloa and cook on the BBQ in the back. Great Place!

Poipu Shores 106A is a lovely condo overlooking the shimmering ocean. Relax on your lanai and watch the sunset into the Pacific Ocean as you listen to the waves crashing outside or watch for seasonal whales from your expansive oceanfront view. This is a great way to unwind from a day at the beach or exploring the beautiful island of Kauai. In the morning wake up and have breakfast and coffee on the lanai. Poipu Shores has some of the best views on the south shore with condos that are built on an outcropping looking down Poipu's coast. A heated swimming pool hovers above the edge of the ocean.
The air conditioned living room is beautifully decorated in Hawaiian furniture. Open the sliding doors to the oceanfront lanai to Enjoy the ocean breezes. Dine in the dining room or enjoy eating on the lanai to the sound of the waves and spectacular ocean views.
The oceanfront air conditioned master bedroom has a comfortable king size bed and a full bath complete with walk-in shower and private dressing area. The second bedroom with no air conditioning has a beautiful tropical garden setting right outside has a king bed and full bathroom. A laundry area completes the layout of this wonderful condo.
The fully equipped kitchen is a chef's delight. Prepare meals while savoring views of crashing waves. You will want to visit the local Sunshine Markets for fresh produce to include in your culinary creations. The gas BBQ area is conveniently located outside your door.
There are many activities nearby to enjoy, including seasonal swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, paddle boarding, windsurfing, kayaking, hiking, fishing, boat tours and flightseeing aboard helicopters.
