This condo was great for our 10 day stay. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai each morning to watch the sea turtles below and whales in the distance. Every evening we sat out there again to watch the sunset. You can see all the way down the south coast. The unit itself worked well for our party of 3 adults. The unit had everything we needed.

The balcony views are truly fantastic. We walked the heritage trail everyday. 6 miles rt from the condo to the end of the trail. The views were fantastic. One of our favorite hikes for ocean cliff and mountain views. The walk to beaches were an easy 7 min. A bit uphill on the way back, but no problem.

The best view in Poipu. Absolutely gorgeous!
Beautifully furnished, including the spacious lanai.
Downsides: an occasional sewage smell emanating from outside of the property. The unit was too hot to sleep comfortably.

Great, quiet location in Poipu. Easy parking & access. Excellent service from Lucy & all! Office conveniently located. Spacious and comfortable layout for 2 couples. No privacy in the master bedroom (door). 2nd bedroom need a/c. No circulation. Also junky closet with all the beach gear. Showers are in bad shape. Needs deep cleaning in kitchen & bathrooms.

501 offers a breathtaking view along with swaying palm trees and the sound and sights of crashing waves right below our Lana'i. The decor and amenities were lovely. The kitchen offered nice dishes and cooking ware. My 2 adult daughters & I have stayed at Sunset Kahili before and love the location. Kauai Vacation Rentals were great to work with.

Rainbows galore. Great response to service needed to figure out how to use the TV. Clean rooms. Large deck is terrific. Weather was so windy that whale spouts were very hard to see. But best weather in the island is on this side of the island.

The condo was situated unbelievably over the ocean with a panoramic view. The crashing waves were mesmerizing. There was however a problem with the property manager who lives there on the site. He obviously does not want vacationers in the building with the tenants. He was very rude. He told our son not to walk barefoot in the parking lot on the way to the beach. We had friends come to pick us up for dinner and they could only park in the loading spot. There were there for 3 minutes just to pick us up when there was a banging on the door and this man rudely saying to move the car or he would call the police. That evening I emailed Kauai Vacation Rentals and told them our concerns. We actually didn't feel safe there anymore. They called me the next day, not to address my concern, but to tell us they were going to fine us for the people who parked in the loading zone!! I thought they were calling to apologize and give us compensation which would have satisfied us. I couldn't believe they didn't already understand this man was difficult. The place itself is worth the stay but KVR didn't have our back.

Every single day we could look down from our living room window, lanai, or steps and see Green Sea Turtles swimming near the shore. The unit was beautiful inside, with comfortable furnishings and a very handy full-sized washer and dryer tastefully tucked into a cabinet and closet. Very nice beach chairs, books, and games were available for our use. Kauai Vacation Rentals was so welcoming with a reusable tote which included yummy treats and a small cooler to use throughout our trip and beyond. Kauai Vacation rentals also worked hard to accommodate our needs. We were very pleased with their professional manner. We definitely hope to stay in 501 again!

We spent 2 weeks on Kauai in Sunset Kahili 501 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Being on the top floor and end unit we enjoyed sunrises from the east, almost 180 degrees of ocean view and sunsets in the west. Being on the top floor also ensured privacy. The unit was well furnished. The kitchen had everything we needed, including a rice cooker. Also supplied was a beach umbrella, snorkeling equipment and beach chairs. The pool was deliciously warm. We fell asleep each night to the ocean surf. A wonderful stay.

Easy to pick up the key in their office. It is just 5 minutes drive from the airport. The property manager is very nice when i asked a favour if i can leave our luggage but I decided not to leave it because we changed our plan. Dropping off the keys after Check out are easy too. Definitely we will come back again in this property someday.

Lovely end unit directly facing the ocean! Well kept and had all the amenities just like being at home. My daughter and I had a wonderful time at this condo, the best one in the building! Very comfortable and looks recently updated. Easily accessible with an elevator and carts to carry your luggage. It's a bit far to walk to beach with accessories, so we drove and found parking easily at Poipu Beach.

This was our 5th stay at the unit. Absolutely the best views of Kaui's south shore. Fantastic sunsets every night. As an end unit, it enjoys unobstructed views from every room. Great breezes from the trade winds. The unit was recently remodeled and is very attractive and comfortable. Modern kitchen and bathrooms.
As always, impeccably clean.
It is just a short walk to Poipu Beach (great for swimming and snorkeling) and local shops and restaurants.
We love this place and can't recommend it highly enough.

This condo was amazing! I could have stayed on the lanai our entire stay! But the home was wonderful...had everything I could have asked for...the kitchen was great! I hope to go back here many times! The place was beautiful, clean and exactly like I had hoped! It was in a perfect location...can’t wait to go back!

We love Sunset Kahili and working with Kauai Vacation Rental has always been positive! 501 is looking a little worn though— same furniture, towels, beach chairs for a number of years. Maybe when things pick up a little more, there will be funds to replace worn furniture.

Left a review on the form provided with the checkout packet, on the kitchen counter. But ...
Would like to recommend better cleaning in the smaller second bedroom. Bathroom and bedroom door panels, moldings, and walls behind the door had dirty finger smudges. A careful eye to clean these areas would be appreciated. Also, could not access the closet in 2nd bedroom d/t clutter/outdoor gear in closet. It's a very small room & would have been nice to access closet to store belongings.
Appreciated the updated kitchen, counters, appliances, and flooring. Comfortable beds. Kitchen fairly well stocked in exception to a medium sized saucepan and larger soup pot (dutch oven). Could have used these items. We didn't use the dishwasher as we didn't seem have enough dishes. Wished for a dish pan and dish strainer for counter. The door key did not disengage well from the door lock. Frustrating. Lock seemed to be rusted or corroded? Could have used a better reading lamp in the living area (only 1 lamp bright enough to read by). But we loved the SK setting and the spectacular views of the ocean, coastal beaches and sunsets. The pool area was very clean and provided welcome refreshment every hot afternoon. Kauai restaurants, music, cultural events have not fully opened up yet as a result of the pandemic 2020-21 but we enjoyed many walks and hikes in the Poi Pu area and Waimea Canyon. Dinner at The Beach House was very special though limited menu as they have only been open a few weeks. We understand it may take a while to recover in the community! ONWARD.

We enjoyed our stay at Sunset Kahili 501. Kauai Vacation Rentals made the check-in easy. They left our packet & keys at the car rental at the airport. The kitchen is well equipped. The linens were quality, beds comfortable and great view!

Sunset Kahili 501 is amazing! It’s on the top floor, corner. When you’re on the balcony you feel like you’re on a cruise because all you see is ocean! Views from every window is stunning. 2 bedroom layout is perfect for a family. We will stay here again!

The view from 501 Sunset Kahili must be one of the best on Kauai and it was really well equipped too.... everything we needed to be comfortable eating, sleeping or playing! And to see beautiful sunrises, sunsets and the sea turtles every day from the comfort of our own lanai was icing on the cake! The staff at KVR were most friendly and helpful too. We'll recommend both to anyone even thinking about coming to Kauai. Mahalo for everything!

This is our third stay at Sunset Kahili 501, the location of this property is unbeatable. We are aware this is an older/well used property as a vacation rental and as such is in need of some interior TLC. The updated furniture is comfortable and suited to Island life. All in all a very memorable and enjoyable place to stay. Aloha nui.....

The view from the lanai was spectacular. We spent time each morning and evening watching the waves, looking for turtles(we saw many) and watching the sunsets.Very nicely furnished with lots of extras.

Near a variety of activities, shops and restaurants, this condo is in a wonderful location for maximizing your vacation enjoyment. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., both Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course and Kiahuna Golf Course are nearby and offer mother nature's beauty as well as challenge. If you would like to learn about tropical flora on Kauai, you may want to take a tour of Allerton Garden or McBride Garden, both a National Tropical Botanical Garden. Just down Lawai Road is 'Spouting Horn,' a lava tube that spouts when the waves force water into the tube and out the top in a spectacular display. And, of course, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby that offer a nice variety of delicious cuisine.
You can enjoy some rest and relaxation right on your lanai while watching the waves roll in during the day and beautiful sunsets in the evenings. The swimming pool is a short walk from your condo whenever you feel like a refreshing dip. Take a short stroll along the ocean to Poipu Beach Park for snorkeling, swimming, surfing and sunning. Nice to know there is a lifeguard there in case you want to go into the water.
