The Soto Zen Bon Festival exemplifies the best of the Bon Dance culture in Hawaii. Within the Japanese-American community, the folk and religious traditions in Kauai have evolved for over 6 generations. The festivities are held at the temple grounds in Hanapepe, where the center stage is the bon odori and hundreds of lanterns are lit to create the festival environment.
