Spouting Horn is one of the most photographed spots on Kauai — and with good reason! As the Pacific surf breaks on the southern shore of Kauai at Poipu, a natural lava tube channels the water inland. The resulting sea spray is released high into the air as a spout that is especially impressive during large swells.
The view is spectacularly luminous during Hawaii's famous sunsets as the sky lights up with vivid color. From December through May, Spouting Horn also offers a great vantage point to observe visiting humpbackwhales frolicking in the Pacific. Convenient access and ample parking make this a must-see on the south shore for Kauai vacationers.
