Waioli Mission HouseĀ is one of the most famous sites in Hanalei Town and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Guests experience a glimpse of missionary life from 1837, complete with historically accurate features such as lava rock chimneys and fine koa furniture. The Waioli Huiia Church, built in 1834, is located directly in front of the mission house. The church's green shingles and luminous stained glass are well-known and picturesque symbols of Hanalei.
