Are you spending Valentine’s Day in Kauai this year? How exciting! We can’t think of a more romantic place to spend the holiday.

If you’re searching for the most romantic spots on Kauai to make your holiday unforgettable, you’ve come to the right place.

Let’s explore the best ways to spend a romantic Valentine’s Day getaway in Kauai!

Enjoy a Spa Day

There’s nothing more romantic than relaxing and rejuvenating with your partner! The two of you deserve a break, so treat yourselves to a spa day in Kauai!

There are plenty of wonderful spas to choose from, offering everything from facial scrubs to full-body massages. Many businesses also regularly offer couples' massages.

Hanalei Day Spa offers an exclusive couple’s massage package called The Royal Couple—experience the royal treatment for a day! This luxurious beachside session includes a 110-minute traditional Lomi Lomi massage, a soothing scalp treatment with warmed coconut oil, and a full-body exfoliation. You and your partner will leave feeling so refreshed and relaxed that you’ll feel like totally different people (who still love each other very much, of course)!

Aloha Moon Spa, voted the best spa in Kauai, is another great option. They provide one-of-a-kind treatments designed to help you feel rejuvenated and at your best during your Kauai vacation. Have you ever had hot stone therapy or volcanic foot renewal? Now’s your chance! They, of course, offer couple’s massages, as well.

See a Gorgeous Waterfall

It wouldn’t be a trip to Kauai without seeing the island’s stunning waterfalls. It’s not named the Garden Isle for nothing! Kauai is full of gorgeous natural scenery; the waterfalls will blow you away! Plus, they serve as the perfect backdrop for a cute couple’s photo.

There are plenty of waterfalls to choose from, and you really can’t go wrong. We wrote a blog on Seven Must-See Waterfalls in Kauai last year that you’ll want to check out. One of our favorites is Wailua Falls, a whopping 173-foot double-tiered cascade that’s easily accessible from the road. It’s unbelievable!

Hanakapiai Falls is another incredible waterfall that serves as a reward for completing a strenuous 4-mile hike along the Na Pali Coast. The path can be slippery, so be careful! Uluwehi Falls is a smaller fall, at only 100 feet. Still, it’s a perfect trip to take with your partner if you’re both on the adventurous side— reaching Uluwehi Falls involves a kayak trip up the Wailua River followed by a 1.5-mile hike through a tropical forest. If that doesn’t scream romance, we’re not sure what does!

Attend a Luau

You have to attend a luau while you’re here in Kauai! It’s an important part of the local culture, and you’ll feel more connected to Kauai afterward. There are many luaus to choose from, but one of our favorites to recommend is the Smith Family Luau.

The Smith Family Luau has been named “the best luau on the island” for a reason. Definitely make your reservations early, as they tend to sell out several weeks in advance. This is even more important around Valentine’s Day, as the island is busy this time of year.

This luau has run in the family for four generations and honors the Hawaiian Spirit of Aloa. The heart of the luau is the feast, and you certainly won’t go hungry here; they roast a Kauaian pig in the earthen imu oven…yum! You’ll also sample other classics like chicken adobo and poi. As dinner winds down, you’ll even have the opportunity to hop on stage and try some hula moves.

The music is just as important as the food, and it certainly doesn’t disappoint at Smith Family Luau. Listen to the traditional sounds of Hawaiian hula and Tahitian drum dances, and watch the incredible Samoan fire knife dancing. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that you and your partner will remember forever!

While it’s not a traditional luau, we also highly recommend the Ahi Lele Fire Show. It’s smaller than the luaus on the island, so you’ll have a more intimate experience (think 150 people as opposed to 400+). You’ll be blown away by the spectacular fire dancing!

Enjoy A Romantic Restaurant in Hawaii
