Enjoy this gorgeous condo with contemporary furnishings on the second floor with unbelievable views of the Pacific ocean. Watch sea turtles, playful dolphins, and giant humpback whales from your living room and Lanai. Colorful sunsets are spectacular and can be appreciated from your private lanai as well as indoors. Awesome private complex, experience the South Shore of Kauai at its best.

Poipu has the best Kauai beaches for swimming (voted the best beach in the world). Poipu Beach Park is kid-friendly for exploring, building sandcastles. You can walk there from Poipu Makai.

As Kauai goes, it is the oldest island of Hawaii, and it is quickly becoming one of the most exotic vacation spots in the world and recently earned several awards as a top tourist vacation destination. If you want PRIVACY, RELAXATION, and SUN, Poipu is the place. The awe-inspiring Waimea Canyon(called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific by Mark Twain) has excellent trails that tell a tale of the age and wisdom of the land. There are several kayaking excursion that take you down rivers and through green and blue waters in caves, grottos and waterfalls. The beaches are excellent, and small towns offer some unique shopping. Helicopter touring is another option that could help you experience the sights from the sky. Kauai is not as populated as the other islands, and the locals are really nice.

To everyone looking for a sea view during their stay at Poipu, I would highly recommend this location. We were there at the end of December and all the wildlife you can see from the lanai is amazing. We saw spinner dolphins, humpback whales (breaching) and turtles. The condo has comfortable beds and is quiet and peaceful. Sunset views are great and the total experience was tremendous. It's close to the beach and all the amenities you want on the south shore. We will definitely come back here next time we travel to Kauai. Thanks for being part of a great experience.

We had a wonderful vacation but coming home to the condo after a day of exploring the island was a bit disappointing. The condo had lots of thoughtful amenities. It was clean but in disrepair. Window blinds are broken in lots of obvious places. The sliding door gets stuck. The oven was filthy with black, burned crust. It’s also a noisy condo compared to others we’ve stayed at with your company.

Nice unit, although somewhat dated. This vacation was a 1 year anniversary for me and my wife. I expected to sleep late and to do the things that you do on a 1 year anniversary. But this unit did not have a king bed, HVAC or blinds on the master bedroom windows! Making matter worse, the main sidewalk to the entire complex as well as the parking was right outside of of the windows that we had to leave open for the breeze. So every time someone parked late, went to their room talking, left early (4:30am and 5:00am) they woke us up. As for adult activities, we were relegated to a twin bed in the 2nd bedroom. Again, this is a nice, dated unit. But the above missing items negatively impacted our enjoyment. Oh yea, and the floor was filthy

This was our second time to stay at Poipu Makai. You just can’t beat the views from the balcony. The condo is small but very convenient and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a full meal or just make snacks. We also appreciate that there are 2 full baths. Parking is a little confusing at first but after a couple of days we had it down!! We love Kauai and loved our stay at Poipu Makai!!

Being from a cooler climate, it took some getting used to the heat and humidity. The unit had several fans to cool off in front of but no AC. The Rental company responded and repaired the community barbeque that was not working very quickly.

Poipu Makai B2 was in a lovely spot, next to the ocean-not beach.
It was spacious, an extremely well equipped kitchen, washer and dryer and many fans. There was no air conditioning. The fans helped somewhat, but with mid 80s temperature and high humidity, the fans were not enough. I am in my mid eighties and I was uncomfortable from the heat and humidity.
Otherwise, the condo was a very nice place.

The condo was nice, clean, and had all the amenities of home. Needed a little updating but overall it was nice. The beds were comfortable enough. It does have a washer and dryer which helped out tremendously. The views were amazing though...not beachfront but right on the ocean splashing against the lava rocks with a couple of sea turtles swimming In the area. We went to Poipu beach at about 10 pm and saw about 30+ sea turtles resting. It was an amazing sight. Loved that our condo was less than a 10 minute stroll to the beach. Parking was sometimes a little hairy with a large vehicle but doable. I would like to make a small suggestion: maybe adding a keypad on the door or a safety box to place the keys in so we don’t have to pick up or drop off? We enjoyed our time in our vacation rental.

The condo was clean and the view is even better than pictured. When you step out on the lanai, the view from east to west is amazing. We watched the turtles in the water and the sunsets every day. We arrived late at night & the condo unit is a bit hard to find in the dark. If I could give you directions, I would- but just know that you will have to go on many stairs to get your luggage in. The beach chairs, beach umbrella, boogie boards, and cooler there were so nice to be able to take to the beaches. There are many, many fans that you can move around where you want them & the cross breeze from the "guest" room is really good. Lots of puzzles there & binoculars. Everything we needed was in the kitchen. Coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and stovetop worked great. I recommend this condo even with it's quirky garage & stairs.

This was one of our best vacations ever. First, Kauai Vacations Rentals was wonderful to work with. They were responsive to all of our questions and kept track of our special requests and they made checking out as easy as possible. We also appreciated the welcome cooler filled with goodies.

Our stay started with the wonderful view of the water which continued to captivate us throughout the week. We just loved getting up and having our coffee on the lanai watching the turtles and being on the lookout for whales. It was easy to spot whales spouting and the provided binoculars brought the action even closer. Then, at the end of the day, we made sure to never miss a sunset which were truly spectacular. All from the comfort and convenience of the lanai!

The unit was very well equipped and clean. I can’t think of any utensil that was not in the kitchen. There was even a coffee bean grinder which was a real welcome surprise. The towels were nice and more than sufficient in number for the four of us. We took note of reviews that mentioned the parking difficulty and can add that while we were very cautious when parking in the lower level given the numerous poles and tight spaces, we found that parking on the upper level was a breeze, even with a good size SUV.

The unit was quite comfortable with lots of extra touches such as many guidebooks, beach chairs and beach umbrella. We found that the video accurately showed the rooms and the furniture. The only surprise was the lack of a full door to the toilet/shower in the main bedroom. We found that to be quirky but got used to it fairly quickly and would not hesitate to rent this unit again. In fact, given the location, which is our favorite so far of our four trips to Kauai, and all that it offered, it is our first choice for when we return to Kauai which, we hope, will be in the near future. Location is great, convenient walking distance to beaches and it matches every need for a small family. My suggestion would be upgrade the kitchen and the mattresses. Those two changes will make this unit a gem.

The location of this condo is spectacular! You are right on the water! It’s within walking distance to Poipu Beach as well.
The condo is very well appointed with anything you might need especially in the kitchen. We enjoyed staying here.

We stayed at Poipu Makai B2 for a week in November. It was a fabulous location and the condo was great. We enjoyed the views from the lanai and we ate every meal there entranced by the view. Loved that there was a washer and dryer. There is no A/C which we were apprehensive about but really was not an issue at all as long as you leave the windows open! The management company was excellent. We are already planning a return trip.

Spacious, clean, well-maintained and tastefully appointed unit. Nicely equipped kitchen. The view could not be much better. We enjoyed watching the turtles feed every day and beautiful sunsets.The surf crashing dramatically against the rocks was better than more placid surf on a sandy beach. We did not walk to the nearby water's edge. The posted sign said,"DANGER ... Extremely dangerous...Off Limits". Not a problem. Poipu beach is a short drive or a few minutes walk. Plenty of beach gear. The umbrella was broken and there was a small plumbing leak, In both cases, the management company took care of the issue very quickly. There was loud remodeling being done in the adjacent unit and then the above unit. The company offered a very satisfactory compensation for the inconvenience. No A/C, but the plentiful screened windows allowed plenty of ventilation. The cable TV was a little hard to figure out; no surprise.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this condo, especially sitting on the lanai for breakfast, dinner, and drinks. The ocean-front location is truly amazing, with a spectacular and unobstructed view. We loved being able to watch the sea turtles and sunsets from the lanai. The kitchen is nice and has plenty of tools, etc., for those who like to prepare their own meals. We would definitely stay here again! Finally, Kauai Vacation Rentals was wonderful to work with. We really appreciated the mini cooler, treats, and shopping bag they left for us. Mahalo!

This was our second location on Kauai. Felt like we had come home the day we arrived. Beautiful location and could watch the sunset every night from our Lanai. Lots of whale, turtle and Spinner dolphin watching from this viewpoint. Will book again. Loved the experience.

We loved our stay here. The condo had everything you could need including snorkel gear! The Lanai was perfect with a great view of the Ocean and cool breezes. We saw dolphins swimming by from the lanai. We were made to feel very welcome. Great location for exploring the south and west of Kauai. Very relaxing and comfortable.

Beautiful place, right on the ocean. We saw turtles every day and the sound of the waves was so nice. Sunsets were very nice too. Beautiful weather every day. Just wish it wasn't so expensive.

This is a very nice, sufficiently spacious and cozy condo. But the ocean view is unbelievable - you feel like there's nothing between you and the vast ocean. There is a nice patio where you can have breakfast and enjoy your view.

I would love to give this place a bad rating so that i would always be able to come back whenever i wanted, but i can't do it. This condo is so homey and comfortable. It makes you feel like you are home. In fact i tried to figure out how to just stay. The view is so amazing, watching sea turtles, listening to the waves crashing against the rocks, we had trade winds so we had wonderful breezes blowing through all night....it couldn't have been better. I don't think i sat on the couch once due to the fact that the view from the lanai is unbeatable. We ate every meal outside at the table. The location is very central and we were able to hike and take great walks all around Poipu from there. The kitchen is very well appointed and there are actually sharp knives. The only thing i would improve on is adding some basic spices that could stay in the condo. Kauai Vacation Rentals was absolutely wonderful to work with. Thank you to the owner and the property managers for a great vacation. we will be back.

We loved staying in this unit. It definitely was perfect for our family of 4. All of the appliances worked great and it felt like home away from home. The deck is awesome! We saw turtles every day right our front of the unit. The grounds are kept up nicely. We would stay here again.

Just remembering our family vacation at Poipu Makai B2 for Christmas 2013. 
It was an awesome place to vacation. We were all so happy when we entered the condo for the first time. We all felt like we were in paradise, well kept, clean, spacious. Perfect for a family of 4. No regrets I'd stay here again and would recommend it to anyone! Thank you to the owners who had everything we needed towels, kitchen had pots and pans etc. The web site pics helped me make my choice to vacation here and I was not at all disappointed!! Love a Wisconsin Family!!!

The ocean view is amazing - saw a whale, dolphins and turtles. Kitchen is well equipped. Very comfortable! Good location. Appreciate the WIFI.

We really enjoyed the view, the sunsets, the rainbows and the inside and outside of the condo were perfect for our needs. Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms were perfect for our family of four. TV, WIFI, very comfy couch.

The view is spectacular. Very short walk to beach, located in a quiet area. Well maintained, great value compared to other places we have rented in Poipu Beach. Rental provides an informal ambiance at home.
