The private master suite has a king bed, large closet, dressing area, adjoining bathroom and access to a private lanai. There are two spacious guest bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the second guest bedroom with two twin beds that can convert to a king if needed. Both of these rooms have beautiful views of the lush tropical landscaping surrounding this home.

In anticipation of our guests’ every need, the electronic front door locks require no keys to pick up, share or return. There is a large flat-screen TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi powers all your devices. The kitchen is fully stocked to meet all of your dining needs including shopping bags for your Farmer’s Market visits, basic seasonings and cleaning supplies. The downstairs laundry room features an over-sized washer and dryer. Throughout the home, labels and instructions aid familiarity with the house and appliances.

We loved staying at Sunset Hale. It was clean upon arrival, well appointed in all rooms, VERY convenient to the beach and the town of Hanalei, ample storage and nice beach amenities were provided. The rooms were all very comfortable with really nice screened windows and doors. Keyless entry made it easy for our whole family to come and go as we pleased. The kitchen was well equipped. We will be back - mahalo!

Our house cleaner works very hard to keep the house clean from the sand from Hanalei Bay, which is only 100 steps from the house and was rated the 3rd best beach in the state of Hawaii by the Hawaii Magazine. After enjoying the water and sand, we hope that you tried all of the interesting small food sources, like Pink’s Ice Cream and Wishing Well Shave Ice, in Hanalei Town. We added the electronic door lock so you could keep the house secure and not worry about losing a key in the sand on the bay. The house will be waiting for your family in 2025.

It was a perfect stay in Hanalei with the property having everything we needed and walking to the beach and reatuarants of Hanalei. We were concerned about no AC as my husband is an asthma sufferer but it wasn’t an issue in the slightest. the numerous fans and trade winds made for perfect sleeping conditions. The owners left a little gift basket with recommendations and gift cards to local shops and when using a gift card at Pinks creamery, the person working there saw the gift card and said oh these owners are the best. We had that feeling but it was so nice to know how much they support local business on the beautiful island of kauai. Amazing recommendations. There was actually an island wide power outage the night before we checked out and we were quickly and easily able to find candles and matches. It really is the first time we have stayed anywhere where we felt like everything was thought of and left out for the renters and not stashed away in an owners closet. Wouldn’t hesitate to return. Most beautiful section of Hanalei beach. Loved loved. Thank you!

We use the gift bag to introduce guests in our house to the interesting food and activity stores in Hanalei town. Pink’s ice cream and grilled cheese sandwiches are amazing. We choose to use ceiling fans and open windows to cool the house rather than air conditioning because with the high electric rates on Kauai, I would have to raise my rental rate significantly and I would rather you use the same money to go to the interesting places to eat in Hanalei. This lovely home was the perfect location for our family vacation. Just one house from the beach, it made getting to the beach easy and very doable for just a couple of hours at a time. The home cooled down at night, but may be too warm for some people. We would stay here again.

This house is perfect for our needs. Beautiful, clean, short walk to the beach, 10-15 min walk into Hanalei for shopping & restaurants, close to shuttle for Haena State Park (Ke'e Beach & Kalalau Trail). The property management & owners provided welcome packets with treats, complimentary shopping/lunch bags & coupons for local Hanalei businesses. Property management is extremely responsive to all questions. Highly recommend, especially if you are looking for a relaxing stay primarily in the North Shore area. We will be back!

Great house, great location, clean and well maintained. Everyone had a fun time, especially with Hanalei Bay just a few steps away. The only slight negative is that the street is very busy with traffic going to and from the beach all day. Of course, there are also the roosters crowing at all hours, but that's Kauai.

Wonderful and comfortable home- charming and elegant. Great location near the beach. Comfortable beds , lots of extras in the kitchen.
No ocean view really- the trees and bushes have grown too high for the view. Busy road with surfers morning and evening but no problem. Loved our stay. Love Hanalei.

This is the third time we've vacationed at this beautiful rental property. The house is well maintained and fully stocked with cooking equipment and beach gear. When we arrived, we were greeted with a "welcome back" sign and fresh leis.The property management company was extremely responsive when we discovered that the modem was not functioning and needed to be replaced. We were back on line shortly after they came out and replaced the modem.

We stayed in this beautiful home for 11 days the end of May. It's steps to the beach and a seven minute walk to the adorable town of Hanalei. The local farmers market is every Saturday and it's even closer to the house. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised with gift cards to local places and an extra cleaning day during our stay. The home was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We had everything we needed for cooking and going to the beach. It is a busy rd next to the house but quiet after sunset and doesn't get busy until 10-11 am. The house is equipped with plenty of fans and with the windows open the lack of air conditioning was not a problem. I even got cold some nights with the windows open from the ocean breeze or if it rained. We can't wait to go back and would highly recommend this home if you vacation in Hanalei Bay.

Amazing location!!! We loved being so close to the beach for surfing, beach play and sunset walks! We enjoyed morning jogs and walks into town of Hanalei. We also enjoyed the layout of the house, room for everyone to have space and relax. Would love to stay again!

We had a wonderful 6 days in Hanalei Bay, staying in Sunset Hale. The house was convenient to both the beach and the town. It is only one house from the beach, and we spent time on the beach and in the water multiple times a day. My 11 and 13 year old boys surfed daily with my husband and always had an area to surf where the waves were just the right size for them.

The house was well maintained and well equipped. There were spices already there which enhanced our meals, and we had plenty of dishes, toilet paper, soap, etc. We used the washer and dryer which are located in a locked area under the house. They provided fragrance free detergent. We always had everything we needed and more.

The owners of this unit seemed especially generous and left us gift certificates for various local places like the ice cream store. We used many of the gift certificates, and enjoyed getting to walk into town for great food. Also, the property management company was excellent in their communication, and also left us treats and a small cooler bag and grocery bag that we also used daily. The house was extremely clean, and everything was in excellent working order. Thank you again!

Our family spent the week before Christmas at Sunset Hale. The location near the beach, proximity to town, everything was perfect. It is a nice beach house with everything you need. We would go back.

What a perfect place to stay!!! Right next to the beach and a quick walk to anything you need. The house is equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed fresh fish from the dolphin fish market, ice cream from Pink’s twice and the amazing sunsets almost every day. House is as shown and made for a wonderful trip to Hanalei.

We could not have more pleased with Sunset Hale. It is very secluded and it’s only steps to the beautiful beach. The house is very large and sleeps 6 people easily. It is very spacious, clean and comfortable. Our family is very blesses to have spent 10 wonderful days there. Mahalo to the staff at Kauai Vacation Rentals. The couple of times that I contacted them, they couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The next time we visit Kauai we’ll definitely book our stay with them.

We had such a wonderful time at Sunset Hale in Hanalei. The management company (Kauai Vacation Rentals) was great to work with during all aspects of our stay. They communicated regularly with us on travel requirements and answered any questions we had about our trip. The home is very clean and has everything you would need for your stay. We greatly appreciated the recommendations for restaurants/shopping in the area and were very thankful for the owners, who left a thoughtful gift since we were staying over the holiday. The house is close to the beach and walking distance from shopping and restaurants. It is on a popular street for beach access/surfers, so there was some traffic, but nothing that wouldn't be expected in any beach town. We spent lots of time on the deck and utilized the grill & kitchen daily. I would highly recommend this home and we will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful stay with my daughters and husband. We we’re steps to the beach. The Lanai has a peek a boo view of the ocean. We walked into town too. It was a very convenient location. The house was perfect! Felt like you were in the middle of the jungle. Clean, and had everything you could need. We loved the outdoor shower too. The Owners welcome gifts were a very nice touch. We used a couple of the gift cards. We would definitely stay there again.

It did not bother us as it was worth it to be so close to the beach and in such a great house, but I think some people might prefer to be further from the beach and in more solitude. Personally we'd be back in a heartbeat.

The property was as advertised. Right by the beach. Walking distance to town.

Owner/manager communicated with us several times between booking and arrival. They also responded immediately to questions we had upon arrival.

If you stay in this area make sure you eat at Kalypso. If you want to shop at regular stores they are fairly close to this area in Kapa’a.

This home is perfect for a family. One house away from beach front, with ocean views and excellent windows to take advantage of the tradewinds. The house was very well equipped. The master bedroom is separate from the other two bedrooms which is nice for privacy. Washer and dryer on site and plenty of locked storage for your surfboards and other beach toys, without having them take up space in the house.

We joined our friends at this house in September/October. It is an amazing house. Much nicer than the photos on the web site. Extremely well furnished for our group of 6. If I had a magic wand, I would have a little larger refrigerator for 6 people. I know there is no room in the kitchen for a larger refrigerator, but maybe something outside for drinks? We loved hearing the surf at night when we went to bed.

Steps from the beach and only a few blocks from town. This is a very relaxing home to stay in and is kept up as a home of this caliber should be. Our grandson now calls this the “Ocean House” as you can sit on the end of the deck and see the ocean. We hope to return in the near future.

We are two couples of seniors, and this was our 6th VRBO rental on Kauai in the past 8 years. It was also one of the nicest homes we have stayed in. Very clean and comfortable, perfectly furnished, and in a perfect location with a one minute walk to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the middle of beautiful Hanalei. We will be back! Of special note as far as exemplary service, was the wonderful treatment we received from all of the staff of Kauai Vacation Rentals, especially Lucy. She kept it in constant touch with us from our day of arrival during one of the worst rainstorms in local history, the temporary road closure into Hanalei, and until our final settling into our rental. Mahalo!

The pictures do not do it justice. It is a lovely and well-equipped home with various spaces to relax in. It has beach toys, umbrellas, and beach chairs,we rented some SUPs for the week and were set! 

We've stayed on North Shore a few times, but never in Hanalei. So spoiling to be one house from the beach and an easy walk to town. We tried driving to one of our old favorite beaches one day and were reminded what a pain it is to pack everyone and everything in a car and back. For a family wanting to play on the beach, this is all you can ask for.

It's bright and cheerful, comfortable and is the most well stocked Vacation Rental we've ever experienced and is close to the beach. We think that the owners have thought our the needs of vacationers as if it was their own home. No need has been forgotten. Nice towels, sheets, dishes, cooking equipment and beach supplies.

We stayed at this property from 3/25/17 to 4/1/17 and could not have been happier. The home itself is wonderful, with a nicely sized master suite, a very comfortable second bedroom, and a third bedroom with two twin beds. The kitchen is spacious and has everything you need. The covered deck affords a pleasant view of the ocean and Hanalei Bay...we spent many hours out there and at the nearby beach, which is just a moment's walk away. We would happily stay here again and we thought it was an excellent value considering the location. 

As with any home located this close to the beach, there is occasional foot and vehicle traffic late into the night and early each morning. We did not find this too bothersome but it is something to consider with any home in a similar location.

We really enjoyed our stay and came to love the little town of Hanalei. The house is spacious and has many fans and windows for great ventilation. We loved the complimentary gifts, especially the catered dinner. The beach was just a few steps away and it was a short walk into Hanalei town. It rained a lot during our visit so we couldn’t eat outdoors on the lanai very often so we ate most of our meals around the kitchen bar counter. The bar stools, while comfortable, were a little too high for the kids. Lower chairs in the kitchen area, similar to the ones in the dining room, would have been better for our family. It would have helped us to have received a message from management before we left for Kauai with suggestions of where we could get dinner and breakfast when we first arrived in Hanalei. But we loved the house and the town and we will certainly go back!

We were here 11 years ago. Now we have my beautiful 7 year old son here on his first vacation to Hawaii. He wants to buy your house. This was the best family vacation I have ever had! Thank you so much for having this piece of paradise for us to use. Your house is so lovely and accommodating. It has everything we needed, including beach equipment for our son. We swam, walked, ate and had so many laughs and made so many lasting memories here. We are grateful. We have had some challenges over the past couple of years and this has been a wonderful place to heal. Hanalei is always so spiritually healing!

We have rented six different houses in Hanalei over the past 10 years and this is our favorite house if we have more than 2 people. Sunset Hale is the best rental house location, the best rental house kitchen area, and there is a wonderful outdoor shower. If we had a magic wand, we would ask for a tea kettle and a fan in the master bathroom. There was an issue with the house safe but it was quickly resolved by KVR.

This is the second time we have stayed in this house, and it is by far the best furnished house we have rented. We have small children, and since the house is only one in from Hanalei Bay, it is super convenient to walk back and forth with them (no strollers needed!) for meals, naps, and other things. There are a bunch of beach toys at the house too, which was an unexpected perk, and having the heated outdoor shower was perfect for washing all that sand off before we went inside. The dining room is very nice, but we ended up eating all of our meals outside on the lanai, which has ocean views. We made most of our meals ourselves, and found the kitchen to be really well equipped. There is a pretty nice DVD collection, but there are so many other things to do close by that we never even turned the TV on. The beds were really comfortable, and the house is in great condition. Nice art and photography too. We highly recommend staying here!

I have stayed in this home 3 times and will continue to return as often as possible. Wonderful location; the Hanalei Bay glitters just beyond the lanai. The home is beautifully appointed and so very comfortable and inviting. This lovely home has all of the amenities to make a vacation here complete and very difficult to leave behind. I will always return here.
